Being someone’s first love may be great, but to be their last is beyond perfect.
Connor and Ashley are two individuals who truly value the word “love” and the meaning behind it. Many people are “in love” with many ordinary things and the word is often so overused to the point that it devalues the meaning. Connor thinks Ashley is extraordinary and she feels the same about him, which is why they have given thoughtful consideration their use of the word love and it’s meaning. They have decided to keep the word valued and have chosen to only say “I love you” in person; this way they will each know that they are both loved, respected and cherished for their commitment to each other.

Right before Connor proposed to Ashley he pulled out a wooden box in the shape of a cross. The cross was separated into five compartments. Connor then explained what it all meant and explained that it was what their marriage would be based off of. They also used the box to carry the rings down the isle during their wedding.
The first section of the box represents family. The second, prayer. The third, service. The fourth, adventure. Finally, the center box represents, Christ, which is also where the ring is set. Connor had the inside of the band engraved with the verse that says “Abide in my love” from John 15. If this wasn’t thoughtful enough, Connor used the diamond in the ring that belonged to Ashley’s grandmother.
Before the wedding ceremony Connor’s two mentors and groomsmen prayed for him.
