Peter and Shannon had a beautiful wedding beginning with a traditional catholic ceremony at the University of Portland Chapel and then spent the rest of the evening/night at the Colombia Edgewater Country Club for the reception. They met at Big Al’s (sports bar/arcade/bowling alley) during their orientation at the University of Portland and the rest was history. I took their engagement photos last year and you can read more about their story on the engagement blog HERE.
I love photographing weddings because there is always so much excitement and positive energy but my favorite part about this wedding was when Peter and Shannon took me to Peninsula Park right after the ceremony for the romantic rose garden photos. It looked and felt like a scene right out of a movie and it was a lovely backdrop for an even lovelier couple.
They both love performing and listening to music and Peter enjoys composing. During the reception the band surprised Peter by asking him to step up to play the keyboard freestyle and reluctantly he accepted the invitation. I was blown away by his musical talent and it was definitely a highlight of the night for everyone!
Peter and Shannon have great friends and it just so happened that two couple’s i’ve photographed were at this wedding! It was a Julia Green Photo Family reunion! I love it when previous clients of mine are at the wedding i’m photographing. We had a great time catching up, planning more photoshoots, laughing and they even suckered me out onto the dance floor :)
I want to give a special thanks to my wonderful second shooter and sister, Maria, along with my social media documenter and friend, Jessica.
Peter and Shannon, thank you for having me be apart of your special day! I absolutely adore you two and I wish you the best as you begin this new chapter of life together.
